PURPOSE: To correlate the sounds of bird songs with their audio spectrograms.
DESCRIPTION: An audiotape containing four bird songs can be played while displaying slides of drawings of the birds and audio spectrographs of the songs. Birds included are: Mourning Dove, Blue Jay, House Wren, and Cardinal. This tape is instructive in learning what audio spectrograms are and how to interpret them. Using a reference book which has the spectrographs it is actually possible to identfy birds from their calls.
