Reference Materials
The Physics Lecture-Demonstration Facility Reference Files contain a
variety of information for the purpose of aiding teaching using the
demonstrations in our file as well as providing background information
regarding the demonstrations. Among the materials to be found in these
files are:
- 1. Information regarding the use of the demonstrations described in
these documents, including instructions for use and sample data, where
appropriate.
- 2. Information on the theory of the demonstration, including papers
discussing the theory as well as information regarding both sides of
issues where there is some controversy regarding either the
interpretation of the experiment or its explanation.
- 3. Information regarding the construction of our demonstrations,
including parts and materials used, where available, and sketches or
mechanical drawings.
- 4. Extensions of the experiments in our library, including information
on similar demonstrations designed to illustrate the same physical
principles.
- 5. Information regarding similar demonstrations, including less
expensive (or more expensive) versions of the same demonstrations and
other demonstrations which show related concepts.
These demonstration reference files can be reached through the active
list below or through the "REFERENCES" entry for each demonstration description. If
they are called from a demonstration description you may brouse through
the references in that sub-topic, but when you return using the Netscape
back button puts you in the demonstration from which you came.
