PURPOSE: To record the Fourier spectrum of complex waves.
DESCRIPTION: This demonstration uses a Tektronix 536 oscilloscope with a 1L5 plug-in unit to determine the Fourier spectrum of a complex wave which can be sustained for about 10-20 seconds, and plots a graph of the spectrum with an X-Y recorder. It can be used with the standard waves from a Wavetek generator (sine, triangle, square, sawtooth, pulse trian, etc.), or with a microphone and audio amplifier input for musical instruments and/or singing.
