PURPOSE: To demonstrate two-dimensional collisions qualitatively.
DESCRIPTION: Dry ice in the containers vaporizes, ejecting carbon dioxide gas under pressure out through a small hole under the puck. This provides a layer of gas between the puck and the glass surface to create relatively friction-free motion. Use the two pucks to create two-dimensional elastic collisions.
